Fluenz experience, fancy Spanish immersion

So I've finished day 2 of the Fluenz program (it's a week but essentially 5 days). The day is structured with breakfast (great menu from avocado toast, pancakes, and  huevos rancheros to name a few). Individual classes, lunch, then afternoon classes at 2 pm (where I am in a group with another student).

I have found the morning classes to be quite pertinent to what I new to work and (which was decided in the initial interview several weeks ago). I seem to a different teacher which is pretty good! We go through prepared slides and discuss certain examples when necessary. After each class, the teachers meet with the head teacher to review how students are doing, as if they are building a profile so the next teacher can continue the next class with ease.

This structure is something I've never encountered, in just about every other school, often times the teacher "teaches" over an hour with the student, at times just conversation and other times with some material, but here they are giving A LOT of attention to the students.

Last night we had a mezcal and Tamales, as well as a presentation about the history of Mexico which was great!

Today we were taken to a house designed by famous architect (Luis Barragán). It contains original furniture among other things from this architect! In 2004, it was named a World Heritage Site as being one of the most influential examples of modern Mexican architecture.

Below is the three women I am doing my course with, the Fluenz class can have up to 20 people but we are just 4. To the far left is Jennifer (she is a fertility doc in California), to the right is Barbara (she used to design gardens and is now retired), and to the left is Linda, she is a professor that teaches creative writing. All are very intelligent and super cool women!

I definitely feel my Spanish is improving especially with using more advanced constructs. I am really curious to see how the other students work out since they started at a more basic level.
