KL, Malaysia - no regrets

I'm super happy I came to Kuala Lumpur. Travel sucks, crazy hot during the day, but the food scene is the tops.

I did this food tour through get your guide, but wish I booked directly - https://achefstour.com/tour/kuala-lumpur-food-tour.

The information provided, enthusiasm of the tour guide, and AMAZING food and stops we had made my whole trip here worthwhile. We had so many course - different fruits, street food, desserts, was just amazing.

This was a tour I did through the Batu Caves and then to see Kuala Selangor Firefly Park. The natural caves were really cool, apparently there is over 160 path to rock climb around it.

Below left is where we saw fireflies, although cool, it reminds me of bioluminescence - the pictures in the ads are incredible but a bit lack luster when you show up. To the right is a Horchata smoothie bowl I had for breakfast at Tapestry, that and Seeds of Origin are my go to healthy breakfast options.

On the left is from the bird park, this bird was stuck like this. On the right was a Durian store, they had a little theme park, I don't know what I was expecting but the teenager employee was super excited to show me around. In Malaysia, they have a reputation of having some of the best Durian, less smelly, more delicious. Tourist in Asia specifically come here to eat them!

This was a tasting of different Durians, all of them weren't too bad!

On the left is Salak, it tastes like strawberry, pineapple, and chestnut all in one, pro tip: great for salads!

On the left is Cendol, a dessert with palm sugar, coconut milk, pandan-flavoured green rice flour jelly, and corn. This stuff was amazing!!!! I don't think i could ever get bored of it. Apparently Malaysia has a high rate of diabetes, makes a lotof sense. On the right Putu Bambu, the middle has this amazing caramelized palm sugar.

On the left, the fish is served with different sauces, a little spice, but on the last one has that tamarin flavour!  And lastly, went to a restaurant to have the national dish, Nasi Lemak, it was sooo flavourful, crunchy anchovies, the rice is soft and sweet, and it was served with a coconut smoothie with large chunks of thai mango throughout (yes throughout the whole damn smoothie) and the smoothie has condensed milk throughout.

Finished off with a great view of the Petronas towers, lighted up with the national colours which apparently only occurs on special days. Interestingly, from an aerial view, the towers are to look like the Rub-El-Hizb, an Islamic symbol.

Other things to note, I have managed to keep up with daily workouts, I need to keep up with the calorie consumption. Japanese is going quite well, I'm using Japanesepod101 which seems (without a doubt) the best language program for learning Japanese, I feel like a know a lot... but still finishing the beginner series! I will be finding a new teacher through them as my current one seems... so so :P

On to Singapore tomorrow where things are 3.5 x the price :(
