Singapore!

I had a fantastic time in Singapore despite it largely being Toronto prices. I started off with a solid food tour, went to China Town and little India to eat at Hawker food stalls. This is where you can find really good cheap food, 5 to 8 dollars meals. However, there are loads of really nice restaurants that can easily cost you 200 for 2 people. The Canadian dollars is virtual equal to that of the Singapore

Some of the touristy things I did and some comments

1. Singapore Botanical garden: massive massive garden, more like a big park, would be great for running, a picnic, has some exhibits throughout, but with the humidity during the day made it rough. Maybe early morning would be good.

2. Marina Bay Sands - swanky hotel, Casino, they have expensive name brands for kids. This is where one goes when they are bored of spending money on themselves and wanna spend thousands on a kid. I got an Americano for 11 dollars, I have thought about this every day sine.

3. Night Safari, this was super cool! Mosquitos and humidity ruined it a bit, they have a bar that is air conditioned which was nice.

4. Arts Science Museum, there are different exhibits, I should have done all, i did one.. was fun, could have been enhanced if Marijuana as legal.

5. Food tour "Everyday Street Art + Street Food Walk" which was 130 Canadian on Airbnb, EVERYWHERE else these are over 200 US. This was amazing, tried lots of local dishes, great explanations about the culture/food. It is just 2 people that run this.

I was able to meet up with high school friend Josh Horowitz and his wife for his bday party, as well as a friend JY who was in Canada but now back in Singapore. Finally, I did end up seeing Taylor Swift with Adrian and Katelyn.

Pros of Singapore:

super clean, super safe, very friendly, international (multiple cultures), great restaurants, easy to access everything.

Cons

Some laws are a bit strict, drugs, littering, acceptance of non straight people, can feel a bit small (as it is).

Below is beside Tien Tien, many say this                                                                                                         has the best chicken rice!

I had to have two meals when I arrived,

this was duck and noodles, was pretty good,

my mind was not blown.                                    Yes, you are reading this correctly.

This is Versace for JUST children,

crazy rich asian many as they say.                    Arts/Science Museum exhibit of the future.

 The famous Swee Choon Tim
Sum Restaruant, almost everything
has pork so was a bit tough for what
I could eat.                                                     Haha thought this was funny

Amazing beef and chicken jerky here.

Their Kopi - with condensed milk, really good!

Josh's bday at High house, 62nd floor. No one realized the dessert had pop rocks, people that it was salt... I ate all of it on 2 plates.

Restaurant named after me

Night out with JY, went to his favourite bar called Manhatten, then level up, an amazing night.

Taylor Swift, we had floor seats, Adrian sorted this out day of! What a wild ride!

This is in Singapore airport, Terminal 2. The airport is MASSSSSIVE, even has a gym, a pool, tons of restaurants, one of the nicest I've seen.

I am off to Bali now for Surfing, Yoga, and Food. Then a big trip to Japan. I have a new Japanese teacher starting tomorrow to get as much in as possible before the big trip!

Then I have some decisions to make, two of my goals this year was Mandarin and French, 8 weeks of each. After Japan, I'm now thinking a few days in the Phillipines, then to hit up Taiwan to see how much Mandarin I can cram in 8 weeks, stay tuned.
