Life in San Jose - but getting ready for La Jolla, California!

 Tsup fam!

I've settled into San Jose, I'm staying in a nice airbnb in Escalante, which is lots of nice restaurants and bars. I did a city tour yesterday and a food tour today. Although some fun stuff in the downtown, it seems there is a fare bit of homelessness (I believe most aren't from Costa Rica), and therefore lots of people begging for money at all times.

Costa Rica definitely stands out from other countries in Latin America as less corruption, better healthcare, but much more expensive.

I did a food tour today, peoples minds were blown... i was a bit unimpressed as we largely just had a fruit, some fruits they have which were interesting were Cas (a bit tart), and Sour sop (Guayabana) and a fruit noted in the bottom left which is brown on the outside but orange on the inside (mon something?). I just have high food tour standards!

Below is me teaching a cooking class - making a type of empanada with plantain filled with cheese. Students learned a lot that day :)

Bubble tea is slowly taking over the world, San Jose Costa Rica is no exception!
