More Dubai, off to Abu Dhabi

 

I just can't get over how massive the mall was in Dubai. Not only that but the malls in UAE contain some pretty high level restaurants. It also contains a hockey rink, an aquarium, a massive arcade place, lots of VR, a haunted house with actors, fancy gelato and coffee spots every few blocks. It's as almost as if  the king visited a mall in the US, and just went nuts! 

Abu Dhabi's mall, Yaz mall, has some amazing restaurants/cafe, replicates from the best all over the world. It truly feels like you can find ANYTHING you want here. Given how massive, there is also never any really crowds, I do wonder if they actually turn a profit.


In the evening I visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, there was.. you guest it, a mall below, the walk way underground to get there is about 10 minutes.

Welcome to my blog! This is to blog my travel adventures after taking a sabbatical from work with a plan of 1 year world travel.   I started off in Las Vegas for the WSOP main event, sadly didn't go too well but it was a tough table! Mitad del mundo and historical center quito.

Yesterday I had another group tour organized by community hostel to go to the centre of the world. They just charged for transportation. Although the weather is always perfect temperature, the UV index is high and sun screen is very important  Below is where they thought the centre of the world was, but left it there cause its kinda cool. On the right is my new wife and daughter, They had a great free tour, talking about some of the history of this place. Quito was named after Quitu tribe, and translates to centre to the world.  They were a pre-Columbian indigenous people in Ecuador. This tribe would have this tubes around their pee pees... i'm not sure why and I guess we will NEVER KNOW. Below was my crew for the day, middle was as a local who hadn't been here.
