Bali - Ubud

Image
After finishing up surf camp at Kima Surf in Canggu, I made my way to Ubud. Ubud is kinda in the center of things, it is very hippie, lots of Yoga centres, healing "stuff" and lots of vegan/healthy restaurants which I LOVE! I bought some passes to the Yoga barn which is the OG of Yoga, it is massive and people inside... have interesting tattoos, piercing, man buns, and a dress a very zen way. I definitely feel like an imposter but trying to get down with the scene. I did manage to eat at Room4Dessert, I made a lil vid https://www.instagram.com/p/C4h1DiJyqx0/. On the left is the cocktail list, two drinks Veronica Corningstone and Linda Jackson are call backs to Anchorman 1 and 2, both some of my fav movies! On the left is my first Yoga Class, the guy in the front reminds me everything you would imagine a huge hippie Yoga instructor would be like. His eyes were closed before class started, reaching up at the ceiling.  I also went to the famous monkey forrest, crazy statues and

Bali - Seminyak and Canggu

Image
So I arrived in Bali, Seminyak for 2 days and now at Kima Surf camp in Canggu. Like the one in Sri Lanka, this place is sweet! An amazing breakfast - smoothie bowls, fluffy banana pancakes, cool yogurt parfait, they have it all. The place is beautiful, multiple pools, a pretty good gym, they have Yoga sessions, meditation classes, a BBQ twice per week.  It has been raining a fair bit at night which sucks cause it does make the water pretty dirt for surfing. There are so many good restaurants in Canggu, everything is so healthy! I did see a DJ - Marc Rebillet, it seems he became famous on youtube, he makes some beats and loops them, however I found his show to be pretty garbage, it wasn't so much music but he was making some noises on his keyboard. Entertaining for a 10 second clip but that's it! However, the opener DJ before was amazing. After I will be going to Ubud for some touristy stuff and to do some Yoga :P The photo below is taken outside of a festival, although it star

Singapore!

I had a fantastic time in Singapore despite it largely being Toronto prices. I started off with a solid food tour, went to China Town and little India to eat at Hawker food stalls. This is where you can find really good cheap food, 5 to 8 dollars meals. However, there are loads of really nice restaurants that can easily cost you 200 for 2 people. The Canadian dollars is virtual equal to that of the Singapore Some of the touristy things I did and some comments 1. Singapore Botanical garden: massive massive garden, more like a big park, would be great for running, a picnic, has some exhibits throughout, but with the humidity during the day made it rough. Maybe early morning would be good. 2. Marina Bay Sands - swanky hotel, Casino, they have expensive name brands for kids. This is where one goes when they are bored of spending money on themselves and wanna spend thousands on a kid. I got an Americano for 11 dollars, I have thought about this every day sine. 3. Night Safari, this was sup
